This thermografic solution is a fully automatic early fire detection system designed to pinpoint and visualise blazes in industrial plants like waste bunkers or open depots. IrMonitor detects critical temperature developments and this is why it is a useful aid in fire-fighting.
Designed as a computer-controlled safety system based on the use of infrared imaging, it meets the regulations of the Federal Emissions Control Act (BImSchV, para. 17), the BImSchV industrial accident regulations for special trash-combustion plants and the VdS fire-prevention guidelines (AVA), VdS 2515, 1988/11.
The infrared cameras are designed for the long-wave spectral range, which means that the cameras can analyse areas through smoke. This makes the cameras a highly effective fire-fighting aid. The control-and-analysis software of Automation Technology manages several cameras and P&T systems, using infrared images to detect blazes and smouldering fires caused by hot objects that have been brought in. Resultant alarm signals can be sent to a fire-alarm system or a control room. And because previous infrared images will have already been recorded, it is possible to analyse how the fire started.
The system can be adapted in various ways in line with the operational conditions of the application in question.
